This is my time line for this project and how I will tackle it.

Project outline.

The task for me in this project is to create an innovative design concept with motion graphics. I have decided to follow on a project I had created last semester.

The original animation was a video clip to a acoustic beat boxing track performed by Acoustic Instinct. The video clip consisted mainly of type based animation and some simple graphics were added. Using type gave the animation and song a different impact, which was visually different and interesting. As different as the clip was the final outcome was a bit bland and could have used some more visually engaging motion graphics.

I felt like more could have been achieved with the song and so decided to dedicate this semester to create a new video clip for the ‘Internet song’ and a second track also by Acoustic Instinct called ‘Walk’. Both songs are beat boxing but have a different sound and flow to each other. My idea for this project is to create two clips one for each song,

For the original Internet song the concept of playing with animated type has stayed as I have the feeling that more can be achieved with that concept.

The second song Walk will consist of some type to but will concentrate more on animation that conveys the sound and mood of the song.

The concept for the Internet song might not have changed and it is still type based but visually I want the video clip to look different. I want to change the type fonts used in the original to make them more stunning and to combine it better with the rhythmic soundtrack to captivate the audience. I want the clip to have a better flow to it and less repetitiveness then the original track, I will explore different ways of showing the impact of type in animation more visuals are going to be added such as effects and different ways of showing type.

The second track is a bit slower and has a different sound and feel to it. As my project is type based this song too will have some typographic elements in it but not as visual as in the first song. The song will be flowing to an animation conveying the sound and feel of the song, typographic element will be flowing across the screen as part of the animation generating a greater visual impact but still keeping it to the mood of the song.

As I am using the music of Acoustic instinct, elements of the group will be seen in the video clips, such as the groups logo will appear in the animations as part of the visual design of the clip.

The main challenge still is to get the timing of text and music right as this new animation will consist of more visual elements. If successful I am hoping for good design and good typography the fusion of information, music and design.

A short history of Acoustic Instinct.

Acoustic Instinct is a Freiburg Germany based beat boxing trio that came together in 2005. The idea was to develop the mixture of human beat boxing and a cappela songs but concentrating more on the beat boxing part of it all which gave the group a fresh new sound in the beat boxing world.

For my final project I will be producing a music video for a group called acoustic instinct.
The music video will consist mostly of type with a few animations, the idea to continue doing animation with type came to me last when I produced a short music video for acoustic instinct and their internet song.
